Getting There
Just 35 minutes from Auckland by ferry, Waiheke Island is the Montauk of New Zealand, combining the cool cachet of your prototypical seaside town (beach shacks made of castoff wood; laid-back residents) with a sophisticated edge. Kiwis have known about it forever, but the world is just catching on.
FULLERS
Fullers Ferries provide the most regular service to Waiheke Island, with ferries departing from downtown Auckland (some via Devonport) to Matiatia, Waiheke. Fullers also service the island with a scheduled bus, which meets and delivers to every ferry sailing.
SEALINK
SeaLink operates car and passenger ferry services to Waiheke Island from Half Moon Bay, and to Great Barrier Island from Auckland city. A Waiheke service also departs from Auckland city on Friday nights and weekends. SeaLink offers holiday packages, combining ferry and accommodation with optional activities.
360 DISCOVERY
360 Discovery provide passenger ferry services to Waiheke Island from downtown Auckland. The coromandel ferry departs from Pier 4 and stops at Orapiu Bay on the western end of Waiheke Island.
Air Transport
Travel to the island in style with a range of operators. Many vineyards and accommodation providers have helicopter landing facilities, and flight time to the island from Auckland is approximately 10 minutes.
FLIGHT HAURAKI
Flight Hauraki offers passenger transfer and scenic flights. They typically operate between Waiheke and Auckland Airport, Great Barrier and North Shore. Their scenic flights are based around Waiheke, Auckland CBD and the Coromandel. They operate 7 days a week, from sunrise to sunset, on an unscheduled basis. HELILINK

Fullers operates regular bus services on Waiheke Island providing transport to the island’s key locations. Buses are scheduled to meet most Auckland ferries arriving and departing Matiatia Wharf.
